About Mori-sensei
Every Miaomiao Nihongo lesson is taught by Mori, from start to finish.
Who is Mori-sensei?
Hi, I'm Mori, from Kyoto, in the Kansai region of Japan.
I teach one-on-one Japanese lessons in Taiwan, online and in person in Taipei. Any level is fine, from the kana to N1.
I studied law at university. After that, I worked at a hotel front desk and in newspaper and insurance sales. All of those jobs were about the same thing: listening to people's worries and helping them reach their goals. Teaching Japanese is the same. A lesson doesn't end when the explanation ends; I stay with you, step by step.
I learned Chinese on my own, after work. Often I couldn't tell whether I was improving, and some months I didn't open my textbook at all. So I know how hard it is to learn a language alone.
I like anime, the dumpling chain Bafang Yunji, and cafés. My favorite saying is 思い立ったが吉日 (omoitatta ga kichijitsu): the day you decide is the best day to start.
Common Japanese mistakes, on Instagram
One wrong sound or word, and a Japanese listener hears something completely different. I introduce these easy-to-make mistakes in short videos on Instagram (in Chinese and Japanese). → Instagram
Miaomiao Notes
Miaomiao Notes are based on my teaching materials and examples from my lessons. Each one explains one common sticking point. → Miaomiao Notes
